Walking History Tour Of Oak Crest

Weekly Acorn #64

Now that spring is in the air, I cannot think of a better time to plan a fun social event for the neighborhood.   When I walk through Oak Crest I am still amazed at how much I have learned about our community over the past 4 years since I began investigating its history.   Sometimes I stop and talk to neighbors who are working in their yards as I walk by and share with them some of the interesting facts I have uncovered in my research.   This sometimes leads to me making additional discoveries as well.

Several residents have expressed interest when I suggested doing a walking history tour of Oak Crest.   So, I am planning to conduct a tour probably sometime in May (maybe May 9, 16, or 23).  This would certainly be on a Saturday with a rain date for the following week.

The tour will require a lot of walking and will probably take 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.  It will consist of detailed facts about the entire neighborhood as well as individual houses and families who have lived (or currently live) in Oak Crest.  A handout may accompany the tour to help clarify certain facts.  Also, the tour will be open to anyone who wishes to attend.

For further details about the tour as well as to confirm the date and time (TBA), please visit the UANA website
